Halle berry receives honorary award at people's choice awards

Oscar winner halle berry, 55, will receive the honorary "icon" of the year award at the people's choice awards in december.

This was announced by the distributors of the audience awards on friday. The actress, producer and director is honored for her services to film and television and for her social commitment.

Berry was the first black woman to win the oscar for best leading actress for "monster's ball" in 2002. For the film "bruised", which will be available on netflix from the end of november, berry was also behind the camera for the first time as director. Former "people's icon" award winners include u.S. Comedian melissa mccarthy, jennifer aniston and jennifer lopez.

The contenders and winners of the people's choice awards, which have been presented since 1975 in dozens of film, television and music categories, are chosen exclusively by fans. Hollywood stars scarlett johansson and dwayne johnson, sanger justin bieber and the movies "dune", "fast& furious 9", "black widow" and "no time to die" are among the favorites in the race for the "people's choice awards" this time around. The trophies will be awarded in a live show on U.S.
